A few years ago I attended a fiber festival in Edmonton - wow! There were so many beautiful things, I couldn't fit everything I wanted into my suitcase. I did get a beautiful pair of Kookum earrings from Particular Possum, a Cree Indigenous artisan based out of Edmonton. Her beadwork jewelry is exquisite!! She graciously gave me permission to turn her earring design into a doll.
The term "Kookum" represents the cherished role of grandmothers in Cree families. This doll will hopefully be a cherished member of your little one's family. This would be a beautiful birthday gift for your little girl.
